The profession of Civil Engineering is often misunderstood that it is nothing more than the achievement of clearly specified technological objectives for the lowest possible cash. Beyond the anlaytical and calculation part, there is a less explored but critical part which is the conceptual stage of the Structural Design and Cost Modelling. Creativity and Innovation always nurture during this stage. The present curriculum of Engineering does not touch upon this part, and new graduates often stumble upon the reality of construction sector when they get out of the academics. They are not field ready with the bookish knowledge and the fewer practical exposure. Similarly Architects find it difficult to cope up with the understanding of structural behaviour which restricts them from adopting creative Architectural Design. The Design studio provides training and internship in Structural Design, Cost Modelling and Construction Management giving due importance to the Conceptual Design phase.
